Details
Dr. Arnold Goldstein (1934-2002) observed that children in contemporary culture are immersed in aggression in the home, peer group, and the media. Likewise, schools have often become training grounds for lessons of “Aggression 101.” Goldstein was a pioneer in research on powerful strategies to replace aggression with prosocial behavior. His legacy continues in a wealth of publications and through the International Center for Aggression Replacement Training (ICART), which he founded. At the time of his death, he was a nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize for this work. This issue is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Arnold P. Goldstein. Articles highlight practical, research-validated approaches to eliminating aggression and violence. Of particular emphasis are strategies that nurture alternative behavior and values which cultivate strengths and potentials in youth. Guest Editors: A. Mark Amendola and Robert W. Oliver
